Art for Youth, – Salida, CO

Founded and developed a youth art program through an already established local art council. The focus was to integrate art into the community during after school and summer festivals. By Summer 2009, we had reached 15 volunteers, 130 youth, and partnered with over 15 community organizations for program support, supplies, and services.

Mission: To use a collaborative approach of finding instructors from the community, with visual art talent that can enhance creativity in our future youth.

Goals: Joining forces with the local Art Center, Art for Youth is a youth art program focused on working with youth ages 4-18 years. The program goals will focus on creating opportunity for youth to create art and display it during the yearly Salida Art Walk while also supporting local artists to contract with youth agencies on instructing art workshops
